Benefits and eligibility details: Position Details Title: Assistant Director for Esports Media Division: Student Affairs Department: Student Union Activities & Rec (Adm) Work Unit: Student Union Work Location: Hybrid, Onsite, or Remote (if approved) Vacancy Open To: All Candidates Position Designation: Non-Student Temporary Employment Type: Temporary - Full-time Hours per Week: 40 Work Schedule: Hours will flex based on program needs; typically Monday – Friday 12pm – 9pm; weekends as required. Pay Rate: $26 per hour Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Minimum 2 years' experience in esports management or streaming broadcast production Minimum of 3 years within a collegiate esports program as an employee or student athlete Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Experience as a leader within a university esports program/community focusing on community development Demonstrated experience in esports media production and/or marketing Experience mentoring, working with, and developing Student Athletes and related content from diverse backgrounds Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds Ability to work nights and weekends during competitive season and offseason Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Director for Esports Media will, under the direction of the Esports Program Director, lead in the creation and development of Charlotte Esports media operations, including streaming/broadcast operations, social media marketing, program branding, photography, videography, VOD editing/production, graphic design, and website upkeep. The position will report to the Esports Program Director and may perform additional duties as required. It is primarily remote with occasional onsite work within a 100-mile radius of campus. Lead development and management of all Charlotte Esports social media channels (Twitch, Instagram, X, etc.) to support community development and engagement. Develop and manage technical and personnel streaming systems to broadcast Charlotte Esports content across platforms and grow local/national audience and competitive presence. Collaborate with Niner Esports Club to market and brand gaming on campus and grow LAN attendance in the spring. Stream 200+ hours of competitive and community content across platforms with established systems. Photograph and catalog headshots and other media for Charlotte Esports varsity players; develop organization/record-keeping for the catalog. Develop and implement a biweekly content creation calendar with a goal of 4 engagement opportunities per week. Design and develop professional development opportunities within Charlotte Esports media operations for students as workers, interns, and volunteers. Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Esports Program Director. Other Work / Responsibilities As applicable, note any additional responsibilities required for this role.
