Lonesome Valley is a seasonal, singular, residential mountain farm community celebrating simplicity, family, nature and over 120 years of one family’s thoughtful stewardship. Amenities feature extensive hiking trails, fly fishing in streams and ponds, lake activities, fitness facility with heated outdoor pool, rock climbing, fine dining and day spa.

Canyon Kitchen at Lonesome Valley is an extraordinary farm to table restaurant located in Cashiers, NC, one of the most beautiful natural settings in the country. We source much of our produce from our own gardens and other food items from only the finest regional markets.

Restaurant experience preferred, but not required.

Bartender Position Summary:

Lonesome Valley Bartender responsibilities include but are not limited to the operation of the Front of House service and guest relations to create a premier dining experience through the crafting of high-end cocktails in an expedient manner. An ability to conduct themselves in a professional and positive manner, consistently. Willingness and ability to promote wine to guests, execute private event operations and other related outlets. Works closely with the Food and Beverage Management and other management to ensure every guest and resident enjoys a creative, satisfying dining experience in an unhurried and uniquely, stunning setting.

Bartender Primary Responsibilities:

  • Delivers a genuine and engaging environment to all guests of Lonesome Valley
  • Ability to discuss menu items with knowledge of history, “sense of place” and preparation
  • Willingness to learn and expand detailed knowledge of all food and beverage offerings
  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Ability to follow and embrace detailed upscale bar etiquette and procedures
  • Lend consistent assistance to all fellow employees to promote seamless operations
  • Communicate professionally and effectively to guests, team and management
  • Lend suggestions and guidance to guests for a premier dining experience
  • Develop authentic relationships and rapport with guests & residents
  • Assist in development of guest history, special requests, & dietary needs
  • Communicate changes effectively and brings important information to management’s attention
  • Handle, deliver and remove food and beverage in a hygienic and professional manner
  • Provide awareness of restaurant happenings and take ownership of guest experience
  • Understands and embraces a unified culture of service and hospitality
  • Collaborates and interacts cohesively with all management and other department leaders
  • Manage beer, wine & liquor inventory in accordance with standards
  • Operates within all State and Federal laws and regulations
  • Follows and abides COVID-19 safety protocols

Bartender Other Necessary Skills:

  • An interest in guest relations and willingness to exceed expectations
  • Upscale/Fine Dining food and beverage service etiquette and policies
  • Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Wine & alcoholic beverage knowledge; preferred
  • Ability to develop relationships with guests & residents
  • Understands applicable liquor laws, and knows the signs of intoxication
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and policies
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
  • Skilled in communicating effectively to employees, guests and residents

Bartender Experience Required:

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in bar service; preferred not required
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to push, pull and lift up to 35 pounds as necessary
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time from beginning of April through November 30th.

Pay: Hourly Wage plus Service Charge & Gratuity (SC & Grat equal to $25-$45/hour)
