About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its innovative, women-led conservation model. The successful candidate will be responsible for full executive leadership, including setting strategy, strengthening systems, expanding resources, and advancing the organization's global reputation. This role requires a strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to provide effective leadership to a large, globally distributed team. The CEO will also serve as a persuasive, collaborative external spokesperson, advocate, and fundraiser. Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in Portuguese, Shona, or Ndebele highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading distributed teams, managing operations across diverse cultures and legal environments, and a deep understanding of conservation, humanitarian relief, and women's leadership in conservation. Candidates for the CEO position at the company should have executive-level nonprofit or international development management experience, with a strong background in fundraising and major gifts management. Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to nurture global connections and share an inspiring vision, are crucial. The role also requires experience in financial and operational management, deep strategic capacity, and a track record of growing organizations with a focus on long-term sustainability. The CEO must be emotionally mature, culturally competent, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The position is remote, with a significant amount of global travel, and the candidate should be prepared to work with diverse personalities and situations, while maintaining a good sense of humor.
