Claims Adjuster Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Full-time, In-Office Location: Overland Park, Kansas (Kansas City Metro) Compensation and Benefits Base salary $85,000 - $105,000 per year Equity in the company 3 weeks paid time off plus six federal holidays Health insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, HSA, FSA) 401(k) retirement plan Free snacks and regular team lunches Position starts 1Q 2026 Responsibilities Learn the Steadily approach to claims handling, helping create a fast, easy, and effortless experience for customers. Establish new claims by taking the customer’s First Notice of Loss. Request appraisals, estimates, cause & origin reports, and other reports to assist in claim investigation. Communicate with customers using their preferred channel (phone, text, email, mail). Review estimates and reports and issue payments as owed under the policy contract. Adjust claim files with extremely high quality, exceeding expectations of internal/external auditor security, including ample documentation, regular diary entries, and quality application of coverage and compliance with all claims‑related laws and regulations. Write exterior estimates with high level of accuracy and attention to detail. In case of a catastrophe, help the entire team in an all‑hands‑on‑deck approach. Assist in establishing new workflows, improving existing workflows, and building claims processes. Qualifications At least 2 years of experience adjusting P&C insurance claims and holding an adjuster license. Experience with homeowners, condo, and landlord insurance is a plus; Xactimate experience preferred. Knowledge of 3rd party claims and 1st party litigation; AIC and/or ARM is a plus. Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a calm and professional demeanor. Extensive knowledge of standard claims practices, estimating, coverage application, subrogation, SIU, and related regulations; bonus points for subrogation, fraud investigation, or property damage estimating experience. Above-average computer skills and quick independent learning of new software; savvy at using online resources. Self‑driven and able to handle intense pressure, large workload with minimal oversight; no task is too small. Hungry for rapid growth in an early‑stage tech company; willing to roll up sleeves and hustle. Project management experience is a plus.
