Design Engineer

Location: Lafayette, IN

Job Type: W2 Contract; 12 months (Potential to Extend)

Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:30am – 4pm onsite

Pay Range: $35 - 40/hourly with optional benefits packages including PTO, holiday pay, medical insurance, and 401k options

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

The electric power application is nearly 60% of the C175 engines' build volume, and the build rate has steadily increased.

This position supports many aspects, including:

• Reviewing engine orders for compatibility
• Submitting shop changes
• Creating and updating pricing arrangements
• Coordinating resolution of issues in assembly
• Problem-solving in the field to reduce warranty and defects

Typical Task Breakdown:

• Lead Current Product Improvement requests
• Resolve issues in the production assembly environment
• Support Product Support organization on customer inquiries for Electric Power Applications
• Process engine order changes to resolve issues or support customer requests
• Primarily working in an office with some assembly line problem resolution support

Education & Experience Required:

• 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering position in industry

Technical Skills:

Required:

• Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Excel

Desired/Nice to Have:

• Experience with Team Center and Microsoft Power BI
• Knowledge and experience in CPPD, APQP, FMEA

Soft Skills:

• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to react to customer urgency
• High degree of initiative and personal accountability
