The Director of Information Technology is a key leader within our organization, responsible for overseeing and advancing the company's technology infrastructure, systems, and strategy. This is a hands-on position that will function independently at first, with long-term plans to build and lead an internal IT staff. The IT Director reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborates closely with other department heads to ensure that technology supports business growth, operational efficiency, and security.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Technology Strategy and Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of the companys overall IT strategy, aligning technology with business goals.
- Serve as the organizations primary technology advisor, identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
- Establish IT policies, procedures, and best practices that balance flexibility with operational excellence.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Manage and maintain the companys IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networking, cloud services, and telecommunications.
- Oversee system performance, upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and business continuity systems.
- Security and Compliance:
- Establish and monitor cybersecurity protocols to safeguard data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, software licenses, and internal policies.
- Educate staff on safe technology practices and conduct periodic risk assessments.
- IT Support and User Enablement:
- Provide day-to-day technical support across the organization, ensuring prompt and effective issue resolution.
- Create and maintain user guides, system documentation, and training tools to enhance team member productivity.
- Act as a technology coach for team members, promoting digital literacy and confidence.
- Vendor and Project Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, service providers, and technology consultants.
- Negotiate contracts, track renewals, and manage IT budgets and purchasing.
- Lead and implement IT-related projects including system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
- Team Development and Future Growth:
- Serve as the foundation for building the companys IT department.
- Develop job descriptions and growth plans for future IT roles as the company expands.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to IT team members.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with leadership and department managers (Operations, HR, Finance, Sales, etc.) to support business needs through technology.
- Participate in strategic planning and problem-solving conversations across departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Schedule, Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:
- Schedule TBD in collaboration with leadership.
- Position based in Cleveland, OH. This is primarily an on-site role with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week, depending on business needs.
- Occasional travel may be required
