The
Dock Worker will support production and revenue goals by following proper handling, loading and unloading procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Minimize damage to donated items
- Proper loading on and off of trucks
- Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
- Sort and label goods by category and place in proper containers or equipment
- Separate high-end goods, computer and computer accessory and place in proper equipment
- Perform inventory count based on invoices, bills of lading, trailer manifest or packing slip when loading and unloading goods and when loading and unloading shipments and store returns
- Fill out needed production and inventory reports and submit in a timely manner
- Assist drivers in loading / unloading of goods or equipment
- Deliver goods to work station using proper equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping around dock area
- Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers
- Perform "Processor" function when needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of related experience
- Read and write English proficiently
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with diverse group of individuals from a variety of educational, social and economic backgrounds
- Follow workplace quality and safety standards and contribute to a culture of safety
- Receptive to feedback, willing to learn and embrace continuous improvement
- Ability to identify different categories of donated goods such as clothing, housewares, shoes, purses, etc.
- Ability?to work evening and weekend shifts
Salary Description
$16.50 per hour
