The EKG Technician is responsible for providing quality 12 lead and 15 lead EKGs, 24 and 48 hour Holter Monitoring, Signal Average EKGs, Event Monitors, and proper editing of all Holter Monitor reports and EKGs, including outreach information. EKG Technicians are also responsible for working in the different areas in Cardiac Services; to assist patient preparation for procedures and may assist in each area of Cardiac Rehabilitation. The EKG Technician works cooperatively with registered nurses, exercise physiologists and specialists, cardiac sonographers, other EKG Technicians, and other Healthcare professionals. The EKG Technician serves patients of all ages.

Required: Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies. Preferred: Experience - 1+ years of EKG/EEG/ECG Experience. Education - Associates degree in Related Field.
Physical Requirements: Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
