Excavator Operator - Experienced

A reputable local trucking and excavating company is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join their team. This position plays a key role in site development projects, including residential and light commercial work. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with excavation equipment and a solid understanding of grading, trenching, and site prep operations. Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Operate excavators to perform tasks such as trenching, digging, grading, and backfilling
  • Read and interpret site plans, utility markings, and grade stakes
  • Work efficiently and safely around underground utilities and structures
  • Load trucks with material and assist with on-site material management
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues
  • Collaborate with foremen, laborers, and truck drivers to complete jobs on schedule
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company protocols at all times

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating excavators on construction or excavation sites
  • Familiarity with various types of soil, terrain, and job site conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Valid driver's license required
  • OSHA or other safety training certifications are a plus
