We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Financial Screener to join our team in Long Beach, California. This Contract-to-permanent role is integral to helping patients access healthcare services by assisting them with financial options and verifying their eligibility for Medi-Cal and other programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, insurance verification, and financial counseling.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct financial screenings to determine patient eligibility for Medi-Cal and other healthcare programs.
• Guide patients through the application process for Medi-Cal, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of required documents.
• Explain available coverage options and assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities.
• Verify insurance eligibility, financial status, and documentation to ensure services are appropriately covered.
• Collaborate with billing teams and other departments to ensure compliance with Medi-Cal regulations and accurate claims processing.
• Maintain comprehensive records of patient interactions and screenings in alignment with organizational standards.
• Stay informed about updates to Medi-Cal policies, eligibility criteria, and healthcare regulations.
• Support the organization’s operations by ensuring seamless patient access to financial assistance programs.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document and track patient information effectively.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling, medical billing, or insurance verification.
• Proficiency in working with Medi-Cal, Medicaid eligibility, and insurance authorization processes.
• Strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and patient eligibility procedures.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with Medi-Cal policies and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively assist and support patients.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage accurate documentation and compliance.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
