Unity Health is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our growing primary care team. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing physician-led care locally. Work with the largest care delivery organization in the world and start doing your life's best work.

Hours (40 hours): Shift will be 10-hour days

  • Mondays are 7:45am - 6:00pm EST
  • Wednesdays & Friday 7:15am - 5:00pm EST
  • Thursdays 7:45am - 5:45pm EST

Location: 9330 Market Square Drive, Suite 100, Streetsboro, OH

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in opening and closing the clinic, locking and unlocking the doors and maintaining a clean environment
  • Welcome all patients/visitors by greeting them in a friendly demeanor, answer questions and direct them through the registration process
  • Answer telephone, complete daily patient callbacks, file, fax and scan documents
  • Collect all insurance information, verify patient demographics process payments
  • Check-in and Check-out processes
  • Verify insurance eligibility
  • Collect co-payments and outstanding balances, post payments received and provide receipts
  • Schedule appointments per scheduling guidelines
  • Monitor schedule for inconsistencies and make corrections as needed
  • Monitor all visitors
  • Various front office duties as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service, healthcare, and/or administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel and Outlook be able to use multiple web applications
  • Knowledge of ECW software

  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
