Our busy Pulmonary and Sleep Clinic is seeking a friendly, caring, and professional Medical Receptionist with potential to cross train as a SMW technician/Medical Assistant as well to join our team! As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and providing excellent service. Your responsibilities will include administrative tasks, supporting both the front desk and clinical staff, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression
• Prepare patient charts in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, including reminders and follow-ups
• Check patients in and out, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date
• Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and take detailed messages
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
• Accept payments and assist with billing-related tasks
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
• Assist with additional clinic duties as needed to support team operations
• with cross-training as a medical assistant/SMW technician provided to ensure smooth coverage when needed

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred; Epic EMR knowledge is a plus

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Good multitasking abilities, with the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and eagerness to continuously learn
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with scheduling software
