Spa Manager

Overview Golden Nugget Lake Charles is a luxury casino-resort that opened in December 2014. The property contains nearly 1,100 well-appointed hotel rooms and suites with private balconies available. Responsibilities

Summary: Under the direction of the Vice President of Resort Operations, is responsible for the successful operation of the Spa at the Golden Nugget casino resort. Directs spa employees, services, products and environment to ensure a positive Spa experience resulting in repeat/increased visits and increased purchase of products and services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Golden Nugget and departmental policies and procedures
• Consistently deliver positive, courteous and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors and fellow employees
• Maintain all licenses required for the position and ensure all spa staff maintain required licenses/certifications
• Role model/promote discretion and confidentiality regarding guest information and shared conversations
• Oversee scheduling, daily work assignments, performance and guest interaction of Spa employees
• Ensure appropriate staffing to ensure guest satisfaction, Spa safety and cleanliness
• Investigate and resolve guest situations to best satisfy the guest and maintain good business practices
• Prepare and process daily reports; point out trends or other points of significance to department management
• Order supplies, inventory, and set up retail displays that attract guest attention and result in increased sales
• Develop new ideas to promote additional revenue generation
• Meet with vendors in accordance with established purchasing guidelines to determine products that enhance the brand and increase sales
• Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service
• Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports and employees as appropriate
• Promote positive public/employee relations at all times
• Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations
• Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
• Safeguard the confidential information of all employee, department and company records
• Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

The position will directly or indirectly supervise the following positions: Spa Supervisor Spa Receptionist/Cashier Licensed Massage Technicians Hair Stylists Nail Technicians Estheticians Cleaners Locker Room Attendants Other Spa staff

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required. Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience. Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals. Must present an image of excitement and enthusiasm, while being able to project a professional appearance and demeanor. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Display strong work ethic and team work. Proficiency in computer programs including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor's degree in hospitality management preferred. Three or more years of customer service/guest relations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to four years of experience as a spa manager at luxury resort.
