Job Title : Top Hand Tower Climber

J ob Summary

As a Top Hand Tower Climber, you will lead a crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication infrastructure. This includes working on macro towers, rooftops, water tanks, and small cell sites. You’ll be responsible for ensuring safety compliance, quality standards, and timely execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage crew members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain antenna systems, base stations, microwave systems, and battery backup units.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on telecom equipment.
• Follow detailed Method of Procedures (MOPs) for construction and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all job materials and tools are prepared and available.
• Upload job reports, close-out documentation, and site photos.
• Communicate effectively with field construction managers and clients.
• Travel occasionally for out-of-market projects (though not the norm).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of RF communications and ability to read RF Data Sheets.
• Experience with antenna systems, multiplexers, remote controls, and repeaters.
• Strong troubleshooting and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to climb towers and work at heights exceeding 150 feet.
• OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and RF Awareness certifications.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to tow trailers.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and work various shifts.
• Basic computer skills and documentation proficiency.

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Exposure to heights, construction debris, and noise.
• Physically demanding tasks requiring strength and endurance.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Dish).
• Familiarity with DAS sites and small cell installations.
• Minimum 1 year of tower climbing experience preferred.
