Summary

The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board's Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board's internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.

About the Team & Role

The Administration team (Admin) within Research & Statistics (R&S) generally provides business line guidance and support to division staff and management within the areas of human resources, training and development, budget, compensation, recruitment, and outreach.

The team is seeking a graduate intern interested or with a background in human resources, specifically onboarding, sourcing/outreach, and learning & development . This internship is designed to be both educational and practical, ideal for HR, management, organizational development and leadership, or related degree seekers.

The intern will partner with the team in the areas of onboarding, internal training and development, outreach & recruiting, and engagement. In addition, there is the opportunity to support and/or learn about internal communications, budgeting & forecasting, contractS, compensation, and space planning/management.

Examples of summer projects include:

  • Event Execution: Coordinate logistics for onboarding programs, trainings, and external information sessions.
  • Data Analysis: Evaluate programs using Qualtrics and Forms, analyzing survey responses to drive program changes.
  • Training and Development: Contribute to creating engaging content and innovative delivery methods.
  • Space Management:Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes and contribute to workspace improvement initiatives.

About You (Background, Qualifications, Skills)

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Management, Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • Required Skills:
    • Advanced grasp of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Action oriented
    • Adaptability and continuous learning
  • Preferred skills
    • Prior l eadership experience
    • Data analytics and visualization
    • Comfortable collaborating and working across functions
    • Some experience with developing and delivering training content
    • Some experience with survey tools, such as Qualtrics or Forms

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Applicant must be a current student, graduating from their program August 2026 or later. Proof of enrollment will be required.
  • Available for 40-hrs/week, for 10-12 weeks during summer 2026, with daily on-site presence at our offices in Downtown Washington, D.C.
